The Room

SYNOPSIS:

Anne must come and pick up her father’s stuff at his household room. An Algerian emigrant she barely knew, he just passed away. Anne is going to discover her father through his objects and realize, after all those years, that he loved her.


Director's Bio:
Latifa Said, France, Algeria: Photographer, Latifa directed a first short documentary, «Au revoir les enfants» (Atelier FranceDoc) in 2011, then a short multimedia production, «Douce France», in 2012. After winning the 1st Prize of the Sirar Fund at the Aubagne Film Festival with her screenplay, she directed in 2016 the short film «Jours intranquilles», produced by Le Grec and winner at several festivals. In 2017, she shot in 35mm a second short, «Terrain Vague» (Saudade Productions, Bando à Parte), who had its world première at the Vila do Conde film festival. Selected in more than 80 festivals in 37 different countries, the movie won so far 20 international prizes. Latifa Said shot then another short fiction, “La Chambre”, and a documentary in Algeria, “Tahiti”, both selected to more than 30 festivals in the world and winner of several prizes and is working on her first feature film, “Longer Will Be the Night”.
