Synopsis

Hind Under Siege is a short film that tells the story of a real phone call between the Red Crescent and 6-year-old Hind Rajab, who became trapped in a car while hiding, in Gaza. The film unfolds through the perspective of Rana Al-Faqih, a compassionate and resilient Red Crescent worker, and those who bore witness to the event. It offers an intimate and powerful portrayal of courage, helplessness, and the human toll of war — as experienced by those who tried to help and those who were left behind.

 

Director Biography - Naji Salameh

Naji Salameh – Filmmaker, Director, and Cinematographer

Naji Salameh is a Jordanian, Palestinian filmmaker based in Raleigh, North Carolina. with over 12 years of experience in the film and television industry. Known for his visual storytelling and emotional depth, Naji has worked on a diverse range of projects, including narrative films, documentaries, television commercials, live events, and branded content.

His work is driven by a commitment to stories that amplify marginalized voices and explore the human condition with honesty and artistry. As a director, cinematographer, and editor, Naji combines creative vision with technical expertise to craft compelling and meaningful narratives.

Naji is currently directing Hind, a powerful short film inspired by true events in Gaza. The film explores the emotional and psychological impact of war through the eyes of a young girl and those trying to reach her. Developed in collaboration with writer and producer Aida Ali Khalil Al-Amerkani, Hind is officially registered with the National Library in Amman, Jordan.

In addition to his work behind the camera, Naji has taught and mentored aspiring filmmakers in schools, organizations, and workshops, helping others develop their craft and find their voice. His filmmaking style is influenced by socially conscious cinema and grounded in human-centered storytelling.
